Pandemic Dairies: WHO Issues Recommendations For Children On Wearing Face Mask
The ongoing pandemic originated from Wuhan province of China is spreading its deadly wings across the world and so far the contagious disease has spread to around 213 nations.
In the wake of the tense situation, specialized health agency World Health Organization(WHO) urged that children that are aged 12 and above should wear face masks.
The health body maintained that along with wearing face masks, children should maintain social distancing as well to keep themselves away from contacting the respiratory disease.
Children who are aged between 6-11 years of age can also wear a mask as a safety measure but there should be guidance from parents and their health conditions and weather conditions must be taken into consideration while doing so.
WHO's new recommendations came after considering the outcome of the studies which claim that older children might be the transmitters of the disease.
This is the first time, the World Health Organization(WHO) came up with recommendations for children concerning the ongoing pandemic.
