President Pranab Mukherjee has warned Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on the Telangana issue. He strongly objected the move of party leadership to go ahead with the division even though more than 50 percent of AP MLAs opposing the division.
Pranab to Sonia: 'Creating a new state without giving much importance to the resolution in the state assembly would arise many more problems and several new state demands across the country will arise. In case if Congress couldn't retain power in 2014, BJP might follow the same format to divide the states where Congress party is in power. Make sure, T-bill passes in Assembly. Else, better to remain silent'.
Pranab's is known as the trouble shooter in Congress. A person of his stature making such comments will surely have an impact on the National party and its topbrass leaders.
