Rumors abuzz that it was Pawan Kalyan who recommended his nephew Sai Dharam Tej to YVS Chowdary and asked him to launch him as a hero. The director, however, condemned these speculations.
YVS Chowdary explains: "It's true that I approached Pawan Kalyan for seeking his permission to direct his nephew. He then told me, there is no need to seek any permission and asked me to approach Sai directly. Pawan Kalyan has no role in choosing Sai as the main lead for REY".
"When Sai approached him for his advice on the project, Pawan advised him to join an acting school immediately. He also asked Sai not to use the name of Mega Family for his growth or identity," he added.
Pawan Kalyan even declared in the audio launch of REY that Film Industry doesn't belong to one family and anyone who have the passion could test their luck.
