Ahead of the 72nd Republic Day celebrations, the union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the list of Padma awardees for the year 2021 on Monday.
Actor-turned-politician, Jana Sena supremo Pawan Kalyan responded to the list of Padma awardees. He heaped praises on the winners and expressed his happiness on Musicians from Telugu land winning the awards.
Pawan thanked the jury members for honoring the late Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam with Padma Vibhushan. Earlier, SPB was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2011
Adding further, Janasenani expressed his happiness on Telugu Musicians being honoured with the Padma awards. Noted singer KS Chitra, musicians Annavarapu Ramaswamy and Nidumolu Sumathi were honored with the Padma awards.
Annavarapu Ramaswamy is a celebrated Violin artist who has won the Padma award in the category of Fine Arts. So far, the legendary Violist has trained hundreds of students. He is currently based out of temple city Vijayawada.
Nidumolu Sumathi, a noted mridangam player has also won the Padma award under the Fine Arts category. Nidumolu Sumathi being honoured with the Padma award is special as she is one of the female mrudangam players.
Celebrated Ghusadi dance master Kanaka Raju, who hails from Telangana was honoured with the Padma Shri award. The Tribal communities in Telangana were thrilled with the news.
