But a lot of people don't know that MK Stalin has his roots in Andhra Pradesh. His ancestors are from the Ongole region of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh. His ancestors used to work as court scholars in the estate of Venkatagiri kings.

MK Stalin's ancestors received 150 acres of land in Cheruvukommupalem area, located in present Ongole Mandal, 20 acres of land near Pelluru River, and residential area in Cheruvukommupalem from the Venkatagiri Kings.

The descendants of Venkatagiri hills still reside in the same village. The villagers expressed their happiness to MK Stalin, who has roots from Ongole becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

The villagers say that the forefathers of Karunanidhi migrated to Chennai, which was called Chennapatnam in those days. However, the villagers expressed their dissatisfaction over the family members not coming to the village despite having land and property there.

Expressing their happiness of Karunanidhi's son Stalin too becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the villagers are hoping to bring Stalin to Prakasam district.
