Telangana director-general (DG) AK Khan made it clear that the agency has never tapped the phone of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and termed the allegations as completely baseless. He described ACB as a professional agency adhering to the law and procedures.
AK Khan clarifies ACB won't prefer phone tapping as such provision should be used only when a person is suspected to be pose a threat to internal security of the Nation. Hence, ACB won't be able to submit the evidence recorded through phone tapping in the court.
As far as the cash-for-vote scam is concerned, Mr. Khan himself approached them with recorded phone conversations between himself and the accused in the case. Later, Two iPhones and three digital audio recorders have been used for the sting operation to nab the culprits.
