Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been conferred with Bharat Ratna, country's highest civilian award, on Friday.
President Pranab Mukherjee went all the way to Vajpayee's residence to present the award as the one of the most respected politicians in India has been suffering from few health issues since the past years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, LK Advani, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Cabinet Ministers were present on the occasion.
Modi said: "Atal-ji gave his life to bharat bhakti. Today he was honoured with Bharat Ratna. He is an inspiration for so many Indians like me".
