Virasam Leader Varavara Rao denied his involvement in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assassination plan. 'This is just a conspiracy to target those who're fighting for the rights of Adivasis. I don't think Maoists planned assassination of PM. I doubt whether Naxals have such huge capabilities,' he clarified.

Varavara Rao suspects this could be a conspiracy by Centre to increase the image of PM as the graph of Modi kept falling drastically in the recent past. Over his name featuring in the letter, He feels the assassination theory is a deliberate attempt to target him.

Recently, Pune Police came to know about an internal communication of Maoists who were allegedly planning the Rajiv Gandhi-type Assassination of PM Narendra Modi. The letter was found in the house of one of the five persons arrested for alleged links with banned CPI (Maoist).

Letter found in Rona Wilson's residence in Delhi mentioned about requirement of Rs 8 crore to procure M-4 rifle and four lakh rounds for accomplishing the mission. Target of Maoists seems to be Narendra Modi's road shows if the content in the letter is any indication.

Congress Leader Sanjay Nirupam opined Modi plays such tactics whenever his popularity declines.
