The noose is tightening around the mining mafia in Andhra Pradesh, which ruled the roost during Chandrababu Naidu's reign, what with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government adopting a tough stance. It's now comeuppance for the TDP backed mining mafia.

In Guntur district, the sensational news is that TDP's despotic MLA Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao and his henchmen could face the music from the YSRCP government. Based on a complaint by YSRCP leader K Guravachary, the police have filed a case against the MLA, the then RDO, AD, Mining, the  then CI and others.

Yarapatineni has turned Dachepalli, Nadikudi, Kesanupalli, Konanki and Piduguralla into his fiefdom and illegally extracted lime stone at will. Tehy made huge profits, which are mostly illegal. When Guravachary tried to fight back in 2016, he was threatened and harassed.  The buzz is that the MLA could be arrested anytime. He is now panicky and has already approached the High Court seeking a stay on the arrest. But, he has several more cases pending against him and this could lead to his arrest.
