Hathras Protests: Congress Leader Alleges Police Ripped Off Her Clothes During A Scuffle

The Hathras rape and murder incident surfaced in Uttar Pradesh caused outrage across the nation. Many leaders and organisations have staged protests against the incident.

Delhi Mahila Congress president Amrita Dhawan who took part in the march towards Hathras region to meet the kin of the victim alleged that the Uttar Pradesh Police have torn her clothes.

She alleged that during her scuffle with the Uttar Pradesh police while heading to Hathras, her clothes were ripped off. She mocked Narendra Modi- Yogi Adityanath governance.

In her Tweet, she expressed her agony on the cops behaving rudely with them. If you want to show your strength, then show it on the criminals. What will you get by ripping off us? She asked.

Many Congress leaders and activists have shared the pictures of Amrita Dhavan claiming that during the scuffle, her clothes were ripped off.

However, the district police have denied all these allegations over the cops behaving in a way against the dignity of a woman.

DCP for Women's Safety Nodia reciprocated the same and in her Tweet that was made in Hindi and said she was there at the spot and women police personnel were also present there.

The other day, nearly 200 Congress leaders, including the likes of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were detained at the Yamuna Expressway when they tried to match to Hathras. Later, they were released on a personal bond.
