Chief Electoral Officer Rajath Kumar declared 60.57 percent of polling was recorded in Telangana by 5 pm on Thursday. Except Nizamabad, Polling ended in all the other Lok Sabha Constituencies by then.
Polling in 13 Naxal-affected Assembly Segments ended at 4 pm. In Nizamabad, Polling ended at 6 pm as record number of EVMs were used to accommodate all the 185 candidates. 178 Farmers contested in this Lok Sabha Segment in protest against TRS and NDA Governments.
Highest Polling Percentage (68.60) was recorded in Medak Segment. Secunderabad (39.20) and Hyderabad (39.49) recorded the lowest.
About 443 candidates are in race for 17 Lok Sabha Seats in Telangana. 2.97 crore voters are eligible to decide who should represent them in the Parliament. EC established 46,120 polling stations. 3 lakh security personnel have been deployed across the state. Counting of votes will be on May 23rd, 2019.
