The Pollution Board Control released the air quality after the festival. In spite of 'Green Diwali' this year the pollution was high compared to the previous year. According to the officials of the Telangana State Pollution Control Board, both the air and noise pollution were high on the Diwali festival.
The areas of Bollaram and Sanatnagar had the highest air pollution levels 300 and 361 respectively, such a high count can effect if one's health and can lead to health problems.
The state's PCB is monitoring air quality annually on Supreme Court directives on pollution control. The PCB was concerned that this limit had been exceeded in many places in the city. Noise levels have been monitored in and around the city at locations through continuous real time noise monitoring stations.
