The novel coronavirus is getting deeper by deeper in Telangana with the situation intensifying day by day. Six fresh cases of the deadly virus were reported in the state one Monday itself.
Following the tense situation, Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajender called for a press meeting and urged the people to stay indoors and not to come out of their houses as the state is under lockdown.
"We cannot imagine that kind of a crisis in Telangana. The Spain and Italy examples should serve as a warning that those who resist tough restrictions will face crushing public health crisis of unimaginable proportions. It is time for the people to show that it respects the government's initiatives to safeguard the public health. I request people to stay indoors for your own good. We are doing our bit, you must do your bit," Etela Rajender said.
He also urged that the staff of the private hospitals should also take part in fighting the pandemic. The Minister said that the holidays of government and private staff were canceled.
Transport facilities for doctors and nursing staff were provided so that they won't face any difficulties in reaching the hospitals. The city was under complete lockdown except for medical shops and shops that sell essential goods.
