Prakash Raj did agree that the remarks made by Rajinikanth on the Cauvery Water dispute has hurt all the Kannadigas including him. He, however, doesn't approve the ban imposed by Kannada Film Bodies on 'Kaala'. 'We get very emotional while talking about Cauvery Water issue because of the bonding between humans & river. Emotions run high whenever there is a debate on the water sharing. But, We need practicality not emotions to solve an issue. What's Kaala got to do with Cauvery? Who are these individuals to decide what most Kannadigas want and don't want? What about Producer's investment and hardwork of actors, technicians and workers? What about the plight of people dependent on sticking film posters, operating cycle stands and canteens in theatres?,' he questioned.
The Acclaimed Actor asked when would fringe elements stop misusing the people's emotions. He cautioned people to be careful about the provocative statements as they will have to live with their own wounds if they fall in the trap.
PR wished to see the Two State Governments, Centre and Experts to sit together and find a solution to Cauvery issue. He gave a call to make the rulers accountable if they fail to find solution due to political reasons.
Prakash Raj slammed Kamal Haasan for not raising the issue of 'Kaala' ban during his meeting with CM HD Kumaraswamy Today. 'When Viswaroopam was banned, Kamal wanted the whole world to stand by him. But now, He have his own reasons to keep mum. In my opinion, This can't happen to any film,' he asserted.
