President of India & Vice President might be first citizens of the country but their salaries are far less than the IAS Officers.
In India, President & Vice President receive a salary of Rs 1.5 lakh per month & Rs 1.25 lakh per month respectively. A Governor gets a salary of Rs 1.10 lakh.
Whereas, Salaries of Bureaucrats are much higher than President, Vice President and Governor. Pay Cheque of Cabinet Secretary is Rs 2.5 lakh per month. Secretary to Government gets a monthly income of Rs 2.25 lakh. The pay packages of IAS Officers had increased after the implementation of the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission on January 1st, 2016.
Union Cabinet is yet to clear the proposal to increase the salaries of President (Rs 5 lakh per month), Vice President (Rs 3.5 lakh per month) and Governor (Rs 3 lakh per month). The bill will be tabled in Parliament after the cabinet approval.
