Prisoners At Karnataka Jail Test COVID-19 Positive

In what it could be a shocker, remand prisoners at the Ramnagara jail in Karnataka tested positive for the virus leaving everyone in a deep shock. Out of the prisoners, 5 of the Padrayanpura violence accused tested positive for the virus.

As a result, the area was declared as Red Zone which was earlier under Green Zone. This left the public of the Ramnagara in a state of fear. 25 prisoners per barrack were kept at the Ramnagara jail.

When COVID-19 tests were conducted five of them tested positive for the virus. Following this, police officers, medical staff, jail staff who came in contact were tested for the virus.

Janata Dal(Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy who got to know about the incident said that the Ramnagara jail should be quarantined completely as the locals are fearing about the dreaded virus.

The toll of the positive cases in the state reached 479, while 152 managed to recover from the dreaded virus and discharged from the hospitals accordingly. To date, 18 members have succumbed to the virus.
