Indian Opener Banned For 8 Months

Indian Cricketer Prithvi Shaw was suspended for 8 months by BCCI after he failed in the doping test.

As per the press release issued by BCCI, Prithvi Shaw ingested a prohibited substance that's commonly found in cough syrups. He was charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violation on July 16th. The urine sample contains Terbutaline which features in the WADA Prohibited List of Substances. Shaw has been suspended for eight months (March 16th to November 15th, 2019).

Prithvi Shaw revealed he took Terbutaline for treating Respiratory Tract Infection but not as a performance enhancing drug. BCCI has accepted his explanation and limited the suspension period to eight months.

In February 2018, Prithvi Shaw shot to fame with remarkable performance in the Under-19 World Cup. He scored 261 runs at an average of 65.25. In October 2018, Shaw scored a hundred against West Indies in the Test Match held in Rajkot. He, however, was unlucky to get injured during the crucial Australia series. This Youngster also played his part representing Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019. Unfortunately, Such a talented cricketer failed in doping test.
