Procuring Cow Dung Scheme Launched In Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has launched the first-of-its-kind Godhan Nyay Yojana scheme by symbolically procuring cow dung at a function organised in the state capital district of Raipur. This scheme was launched on Monday on the occasion of the festival of Hareli.

Under the scheme, the government will procure cow dung at Rs 2 per kilogram from livestock owners. The procured cow dung will be used for preparing organic fertiliser.

By implementing this scheme, the Chhattisgarh government aims to give a boost to the rural economy and to create employment opportunities in the rural areas.

The motto of the scheme is to encourage the use of organic fertilisers and minimise the use of chemicals. To improve the fertility of the soil and protect Kharif and rabi crops.
