Update: 2021-12-28 06:39 GMT
A tense situation prevailed in front of the residence of BJP corporator Narendra Kumar in Mirpet area on Monday. Narendra Kumar, who had won on the BJP ticket, has recently joined the TRS. He says he has joined the TRS as he is deeply impressed by the performance of the party and the service of the poor and the downtrodden.

However, the BJP workers allege that he has joined the TRS for personal gain. They staged a dharna in front of his house. They demanded that he resign from the corporator's post and contest again on the TRS ticket. They said since he had won because of the BJP symbol, she should resign the post. As a result,  tense situation prevailed at this residence.

Narendra Kumar, corporator of Division NO 13, joined the TRS recently in the presence of Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy. Angered by this defection the BJP activists staged a dharna in front of his hoe. The real fear for the BJP is that there are more corporators in Mirpet, who are willing to defect. There are reports that the corporators of Badangpet and other areas also planning to join the TRS.

The ruling TRS is now planning to finish off the BJP by encouraging defections from its ranks. The BJP is worried about the loyalties of its corporators in the municipalities on the outskirts of the city. The BJP feels that unless it is able to contain the turncoats, many more might follow suit.
