Pullela Gopichand, the man behind PV Sindhu's rise as a champion, can't ask for anything better after the Olympic feat achieved by one of his Students. Here is what he said about Sindhu's performance
Your Take on Final: 'We should accept that Carolina Marin played better. She is a strong opponent, played aggressively throughout the match. Though Sindhu received few opportunities, Its Marin who had an upper hand for most of the time. Creating Opportunities and Aggression is key for success. Sindhu committed few minor mistakes and Marin capitalized on them. She played superbly'.
The areas where Sindhu lagged behind?: 'Sindhu found in difficult to earn points at the Start, Gaining upper hand at crucial junctures and Ending the Game. These things can be learnt with experience. Sindhu hasn't played many big tourneys and finals so far. She would only get better in future'.
Were you disappointed with the defeat in Final?: 'Win or Lose - one should give their best. Sindhu has done it. Winning the Gold would have been great but she reached a milestone and made us proud. I'm very happy with her performance'.
Future of PV Sindhu: 'Sindhu is just 21-Years-Old. She is a strong player, improved her game a lot. She will be much better by the time of next Olympics'.
