India's ace shuttler PV Sindhu has won her first major championship. She has beaten Chinese shuttler Sun Yu in the final on Sunday convincingly.
Sindhu won the first set 21-11. However, Losing the second set 17-21 made the contest very interesting. The Hyderabadi bounced back strongly to claim the third set (21-11) and the title as well.
The Olympic Silver Medallist set a rare record with this victory. She is only the second Indian and third non-Chinese shuttler to bag the China Open title.
Other champion player Saina Nehwal, who comeback after a knee injury, was knocked out of the China Open in the first round itself. Thailand's Porntip Buranaprasertsuk defeated the former World No.1.
