PV Sindhu running World Federation Athletes' election!

The Badminton World Federation's (BWF) Athletes' Commission had nominated nine candidates for the six positions in the body. The elected athletes will have a tenure of four years from 2021 to 2015. The nominated candidates include Indian Olympic medallist PV Sindhu.

The elections for the same will be held on the 17th of December in Spain at the World Championships. PV Sindhu is running for re-election for the nominated posts in the commission. Back in 2017, she was elected to the commission as the tenure of the elected candidates was nearing to end, the election was called by the commission.

Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is in Bali currently as she is playing the ongoing Indonesia Open Super 1000 event. The star shuttler is the only Athlete who is still playing the game to take part in the Badminton World Federation's (BWF) Athletes Commission elections.

Adam Hall(Scotland), Hadia Hosny(Egypt), Iris Wang( United States), Kim Soyeong(Korea), Robin Tabeling(Netherlands), Soraya Aghaeihajiagha(Iran), Zheng Si Wei(China) were the other candidates who were nominated for the elections.

The game organizers issued an official statement to announce the election date saying that the BWF Athletes' Commission election and the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2021 would be held on the same date, it is December 17. Spain will host the two major events.
