PV Sindhu starts Tokyo Olympics with a bang

Indian ace Badminton player PV Sindhu had started her Tokyo Olympics tournament auspiciously by registering a win against Ksenia Polikarpova of Israel in the group matches.

In the group match held at Musashino Forest Plaza, PV Sindhu showed her dominance in the game. She took just 29 minutes to win against her opponent in the straight games with
21-7, 21-10.

PV Sindhu was placed in Group J. Ksenia Polikarpova and Hong Kong's Cheung Ngan Yi are the other contenders in the group. Sindhu will take on Hong Kong's player on Wednesday.

The ace player showed her class with the game. Despite having a slow start, she made a quick comeback. Starting the game with 1-3, Sindhu finished her first game with 21-7, this included 12 straight points.

Those who win the match on Wednesday will make it to the next stage. PV Sindhu is carrying high expectations for the crucial match.

After marching on to a win in the group match, PV Sindhu said the Tokyo Olympics 2020 is a different tournament altogether as there were no expectations earlier.

The Olympics 2020 tournament which was scheduled to be held last year was postponed due to Covid. The tournament is being held with utmost safety measures at the Olympic Village.
