Telugu Weightlifter Gets A Gold For India

Telugu athletes have been very few and highly uncommon. Even though the Telugu state Governments have been working towards improving the infrastructure facilities for sports and athletes still, very less people are able to shine Internationally.

Now, at the Commonwealth games happening in Gold Coast, Australia, Indian athletes, mainly, Weightlifting champions are showing their meat and all the six medals India have on board are won by Weightlifters and a Telugu weightlifter is able win gold today.
 
Venkat Rahul Raagala, did manage the feat at the Commonwealth games in 85 kgs heavy lifting category.

He lifted 187 kgs in Clean and Jerk, 151 kgs in Snatch, making it a total of 338 to win the Gold medal at the Commonwealth games.

This is the fourth gold for India in the event and before him, Meerabhai Chanu (in 48 kgs), Sangeetha Chanu (in 48 kgs) on second day and Satish Kumar Sivalingam (in 77 kgs) won gold medals for India.

Vijay Rahul belongs to Guntur and AP Government congratulated him on this feat and soon, they will announce his prize money for the feat it seems.
