Farm Bills Row: Farmers Find Supports From Rahul Gandhi And Priyanka Gandhi
The farmers' protests against the new farm bills introduced by the Centre are getting intensified day by day with one after the leader from the opposition parties supporting the protests.
The farmers who are protesting found support in the form of Congress leader, Lok Sabha member Rahul Gandhi and Congress party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The Gandhi siblings have appealed to the public to take part in the campaign titled "Speak Up for Farmers". Rahul Gandhi shared a video urging people to take part in the campaign.
In the tweet made in Hindi, Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi government tortured the farmers. They introduced the black laws first, then they used lathi-charge on the farmers. They forgot that voice raised by farmers will resonate across the country.
Priyanka Gandhi has also raised the issue. In her tweet made in Hindi, the All India Congress Committee(AICC) in charge of Eastern Uttar Pradesh alleged that the new farm bills ignore the farmer's interest.
It's been more than one month, the farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and some parts of Uttar Pradesh have been staging a protest against the new farm bills introduced by the Centre.
While the center said the new farm bills will modernise the agriculture sector and lend a helping hand to them, the farmers are alleging that they will face losses with the new bills.
