Rahul Gandhi Climbs Tirumala Hills By Foot

Update: 2019-02-22 13:16 GMT
Rahul Gandhi's trip to Tirupati on Friday will be remembered for a very long time. The Congress President climbed the seven hills of Tirumala by foot from Alipiri. He covered a distance of 11 km during his pilgrimage to the Lord Balaji shrine.

After the darshan of Venkateswara Swamy, Rahul Gandhi will take part in Pratyeka Hoda Bharosa Praja Yatra in Tirupati. The purpose of this Bus Yatra organised by AP Congress Chief Raghuveera Reddy is to make people believe Special Category Status will be accorded if Rahul Gandhi becomes the next Prime Minister of the country. Rahul Gandhi will also take part in a rally to spread the assurance to every nook and corner in the state.

Congress Party which was in power in AP until 2014 faced a crushing defeat in the last elections. Not even a single MLA or MP Candidate was able to emerge victorious. Congress Leaders believe they could win at least 3 to 5 MLA Seats in AP in the upcoming elections as Special Status will be a key factor.

To form the next government at Central-level, Congress should win anywhere close to 200 MP Seats on its own. There is no such situation as of now and majority of the surveys predict UPA's tally will be around 140-mark.
