BJP MP Subramanian Swamy asked Rahul Gandhi to clarify whether he is a Hindu or Christian after the Congress Vice President visited four temples in Gujarat.
Mr.Swamy: 'Rahul Gandhi should declare - I'm not a Christian, but a Hindu. He had got a Church in 10 Janpath and visits it to offer prayers. We won't believe Rahul unless he claims to be a Hindu alike his father Rajiv Gandhi'.
Rahul Gandhi visited Temples during his three days campaign in poll-bound Gujarat. His tour began with offering prayers at the Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwaraka. Later, He went to Khodal Dham Temple in Kagvad village and Jalaram Temple in Veerpur in Rajkot district. He concluded his campaign with the visit to Chotila Temple in Surendranagar district.
Congress describe the temple visiting-spree of Rahul Gandhi as a move to counter the Hindutva ideology of the BJP and RSS.
