During the hearing of Rafale Contempt Case, The Supreme Court breathed fire on Rahul Gandhi for attributing 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' jibe to it. Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi questioned the Congress Chief, 'You took 22 pages to express regret, but where is the complete regret'.
BJP Leader Meenakshi Lekhi filed contempt of court case against Rahul Gandhi after the Congress Chief had wrongly attributed his political slogan 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' to the Supreme Court Judges. The Apex Court made it clear it has never made such a comment.
In his affidavit, Rahul Gandhi claimed to be having highest esteem for the Judiciary. He sought the dismissal of the petition moved by Meenakshi Lekhi who sought criminal proceedings against him for twisting SC's Judgement on April 10th that it has declared PM Modi guilty of indulging in corruption while purchasing 36 Rafale Jets.
However, Supreme Court wasn't satisfied even with the third affidavit filed by Rahul Gandhi. Rahul's Counsel Abhishek Singhvi informed the court that a fresh affidavit will be filed to convey the apologies of the Congress President.
