Rajasthan: Petrol price clocks over Rs 100 per litre in Sri Ganganagar

People across the nation were forced to stay at their homes for more than six months in 2020 due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus and a series of nationwide lockdowns.Though the lockdown was revoked and the public was permitted to step out of their houses, the constant rise in fuel prices has given one more reason for the public to stay at home.

The price of the premium variant of petrol in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar has reached the all-time high price of ₹101.80. The price of petrol was increased by 38 paise and 26 paise in the past two days.Coming to the fuel prices in the capital city of Jaipur, the price of petrol and diesel has increased to ₹93.86 and ₹85.94 per litre respectively.

Not only in the capital city, but the petrol prices across the state have also clocked the high range. The price of petrol and diesel stood at above Rs 93 and above Rs 85 respectively.The fuel prices in Rajasthan are higher than other states in the countries as the value-added tax (VAT) imposed on the fuel is excess compared to other states.

After Jaipur, the fuel prices are high in Amaravati, Hyderabad, Chennai, and the national capital Delhi. The prices stood at Rs 92.54 and Rs 85.73 per liter for Petrol and Diesel respectively.

The fuel price of Diesel stood at Rs 89.77 per liter, while Petrol clocked Rs 83.46, followed by Rs 88.82(Petrol), Rs 81.71 (Diesel) in Chennai, and Rs 86.30(Petrol) and Rs 76.48(Diesel) in Delhi.
