As per the Goods & Services Tax introduced by Centre, Rs 100 movie tickets will attract 18 percent tax & those costing more than Rs 100 will be charged 28 percent tax. In addition, 30 Percent Local Taxes have been levied on movie tickets in Tamil Nadu.
