Pro-Tamil Outfit 'Tamizhar Munnetra Padai' burnt an effigy of Rajinikanth opposing his political entry. Security has been beefed up at the Tamil Superstar's residence in Poes Garden after the members of the outfit tried to create a hungama by raising slogans. Several TMP Activists were arrested at the Cathedral Road Today.
During the fans meet last week, Rajinikanth described himself as a pure Tamilian saying he spent 43 years of his life in Tamil Nadu. 'If you ask Me to leave, I have only one place to go (Himalayas) not any other state,' he said.
Pro-Tamil Groups have always raised the topic of Rajinikanth's Kannada origins, especially during the Cauvery Water issue. This time it has come to the stage of burning his effigy and raising slogans against him after he hinted about his political entry. Tamizhar Munnetra Padai Activists say, 'Rajinikanth who is a Kannadiga ineligible to rule Tamil Nadu'.
