Raju Garu Closes Fort, Party Too Due To Covid

Update: 2021-05-29 08:28 GMT
For over four decades, he was the unquestioned king of Vizianagaram, literally and figuratively. As the king of Gajapathi clan, he was widely respected and his family was held in great reverence for its contribution for the development of the district. But, for over the last one month, TDP heavyweight Ashok Gajapathi Raju has simply vanished from public life.

He is not moving out of his fort. He has not attended any programme. Nor was he seen giving any directions about the service actitivty during the Covid pandemic. More worrisomely, both he and his daughter Aditi are not active even on the social media. While one does not expect Ashok Gajapathi Raju, all of 69, to move around and personally meet people in times of Corona, one expects him to guide and motivate the party workers in particular and the people in general. However, there I complete silence in the fort.

On April 18, the fort was closed and has not opened till now. This also means that the TDP district party office, located in the fort, is also not accessible. Effectively, the TDP district unit is in hibernation. A strong section in the party strongly believes that it is time the party district office is decoupled with the Royal fort.
