Update: 2017-03-09 16:06 GMT
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is mulling to introduce new Rs 10 notes soon to improve the money circulation.

Common Man has been facing lot of difficulty because of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes since demonetisation was launched. People were finding it difficult to exchange Rs 2,000 notes due to lack of sufficient lower denomination notes in circulation.

RBI on Thursday declared new Rs 10 denomination notes will have advanced security features. Currency Notes in the Mahatma Gandhi series-2005 will carry inset letter 'L' on both number panels. Whereas, Year of printing (2017) will be on the back side. You could find Numerals on both the panels from left to right. Size of the first three Alpha-Numeric Characters (prefix) will remain constant. The new notes will bear the signature of RBI Governor Urjit Patel.

Notably, RBI isn't going to scrap the old Rs 10 notes anytime soon.
