Has KCR Stirred A Hornet's Next?

Update: 2018-08-14 16:45 GMT
Has Telangana chief minister KCR scored a self-goal? Many political watchers feel that by announcing that he would go for elections six months before schedule and that he would announce his candidates by September this year, KCR has stirred a hornet's next.

With many claimants for every assembly seat, this announcement is sure to cause a problem. Dissidence is likely to grow. The sitting MLAs will sure demand ticket again. But, there are others seeking tickets. Will KCR be able to satisfy all of them? If not, those who fail to get tickets will act against the official candidates. It is precisely because of this that the candidates are announced very close to the polling day so that the dissidents do not have time to mar the prospects of the official candidates.

Though the CM is claiming that he has the capacity to get all his candidates elected, the situation on the ground is different. The failure to implement the welfare schemes and local corruption is proving to be the biggest obstacle for the TRS. In most constituencies, the TRS MLAs are very unpopular. The Congress, on the other hand, is gaining in strength by each passing day. It is being tacitly backed by the TDP. If it can manage to rope in intellectuals like Prof Kodandaram, the TRS would be further weakened.

So, how will KCR manage the dissidence? Let's wait and see how things pan out!!
