At the Mahanadu held at Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad, TDP Workers raised 'PM' slogans to express their wish to see Chandrababu Naidu as Prime Minister of India. In response, AP CM made it clear he would never become Prime Minister. 'No matter how much loudly you raise such slogans, I am not interested in becoming PM. I had turned down the opportunity to become Prime Minister 22-Years-Ago. My sole aim is to make AP No.1 in the Country,' he asserted.

TDP Supporters might have assumed their Party President would play a crucial role in National Politics after watching him share stage with Leaders of several parties during HD Kumaraswamy's swearing-in ceremony in Karnataka. Even West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee appealed Babu to lead Federal Front.

Whereas, Chandrababu Naidu kept maintaining that he is least interested in national politics. He, however, wishes to see unity among regional parties to dethrone Narendra Modi from power in 2019. The way Naidu moved closely with Rahul Gandhi indicates he is willing to work with even Congress to defeat BJP.
