Congress Rajya Sabha Member Renuka Chowdhury, known to be a fire-brand leader, made news for all the wrong reasons. The senior politician didn't turn up at the right time and eventually led to a 45 minutes delay in Air India flight departure.
Air India Delhi-Hyderabad flight AI-126 was slated to take off at 1900 hours on Friday. However, Renuka Chowdhury turn up for boarding at 7.04 PM and this led to the delay. The Flight couldn't leave just because Renuka's baggage had already gone on the flight. While the Airlines accuses the MP of going on a shopping spree, Renuka rubbishes the allegations and asks AI to prove them.
Post this incident, Civil Aviation Ministry directed Air India to prefer Electronic Baggage Identification System so that passengers who do not turn up before the scheduled time will be included in the no-show passengers list.
