Researchers Say The COVID-19 Virus Might Last For Two Years

Adding more fears about the COVID-19 pandemic, a research report of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota stated that the novel coronavirus will last for two years and we cannot control the pandemic unless 60-70 percent of the world population develops immunity system to fight the virus.

The research stated that the virus turns even more fatal as the virus can spread from one person to another and the infected people will not notice this until he/she falls ill severely.

"This will take time, since limited serosurveillance data available to date suggest that a relatively small fraction of the population has been infected and infection rates likely vary substantially by geographic area," the research stated.

"As the pandemic wanes, it is likely that COVID-19 will continue to circulate in the human population and will synchronize to a seasonal pattern with diminished severity over time, as with other less pathogenic coronaviruses," it added.

The researchers went on to say that many nations that imposed lockdown based on the spread of the virus now eased the instructions for people to come out and the business to start their operations and added that there is the chance of the virus to get spread beyond 2022 too.
