Revanth emerges stronger in Telangana Congress

Update: 2022-05-17 07:26 GMT
Slowly but surely, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revanth Reddy is consolidating himself in the party. He has emerged quite stronger after the recent public meeting in Warangal. The meeting showed him as a  master mobiliser and able organiser. It is now becoming increasingly clear that the dissidents may not have any alternative but to fall in line.

Though the dissidents are still holding out, it is now clear that Revanth Reddy is calling the shots in the Congress. Two successful programmes - the digital membership and Farmers declaration at Warangal - have catapulted him to the top. Despite initial diffidence, the Congress Party has taken to digital membership drive in a big way. The results are encouraging, say sources.

The party is now planning to hold Rachabanda across Telagnana from May 21. As part of this, 15 incharges would be appointed for every MP seat, except Hyderabad and Secunderabad. They would coordinate the programmes. As part of this, meetings would be held in various villages across the state. Revanth himself is going to attend the Rachabanda in Prof. Jayashankar's native village.

To further consolidate his position, Revanth is said to be planning to invite Rahul Gandhi to launch his nationwide padayatra from Telangana. He said the padayatra would give further fillip to the Congress Party. He said that the party would come to power if the party workers worked hard with dedication and determination for just one year.
