Tension gripped Hyderabad with the arrest of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) chief Revanth Reddy earlier today. As a precautionary measure, he was arrested by the cops as he was supposed to reach Telangana Chief Minister KCRâs farmhouse. He was arrested in front of his house by the concerned cops.
Revanth Reddy was first put under house arrest by the cops earlier today. Later he was detained and shifted to a nearby police station. His followers and Congres party supporters who were present outside the residence of Revanth Reddy had an argument with the cops.
They tried to stop the cops from arresting Revanth Reddy. But the cops took him into custody amid their protest and was shifted to a police station. Besides Revanth Reddy, a few other Congress leaders were also detained by the Police personnel today.
The series of arrests were made as Revanth Reddy called for a protest at KCR's farmhouse in Erravalli. Revanth called for a Rachabanda program outside KCR farmhouse. To see that no unwanted scenes would take place, the arrests were made.
However, the Congress leaders have condemned the arrests and alleged that the Police department is acting as per the instructions of the Telangana government.
