Revanth Reddy takes Charge as new TPCC

Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy, who was appointed as the new boss for the Telangana wing of Congress by the party leadership took oath as the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) chief at the Gandhi Bhavan, the party headquarters on Wednesday.

Revanth Reddy took charge from the interim TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Other leaders like AICC In-charge of Telangana Manickam Tagore, CLP Leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and senior Congress leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah graced the event.

Before reaching the Gandhi Bhavan, Revanth Reddy offered his prayers at the famous Sri Peddamma Thalli Temple and Dargah Yousufain Sharifain in the Nampally region of Hyderabad. After paying a visit to two places, he left for headquarters.

Revanth Reddy's followers and Congress party activists followed the new TPCC chief from his residence in the posh Jubilee Hills area in Hyderabad to the party headquarters. Revanth Reddy received a dreamy welcome at the headquarters.

The new TPCC chief reached the Gandhi Bhavan amid much fanfare and massive celebrations of his fans and followers. The Vedic scholars blessed Revanth Reddy before taking the oath.

Firebrand leader Revanth Reddy will face a big challenge as the new TPCC chief in the form of the upcoming Huzurabad by-election, which is likely to be held in September this year.

The political analysts are seeing the forthcoming by-elections as an intense battle between the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) and the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP).

The main challenge is can Revanth Reddy bring all the Congress leaders and workers under one roof to bring back the lost glory to the party in Telangana, given the fact that a few senior leaders, aspirants of the post were not happy with Revanth's appointment as TPCC President.

To see that the internal issues will not cause any issue for the Congress party's growth, Revanth Reddy has been gathering support and meeting the senior leaders. He is meeting the senior leaders and the other aspirants of the post.

He met the leaders and invited them to come to his swearing-in ceremony as the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief. While V. Hanumantha Rao, who is undergoing treatment couldn't come to the event, the remaining leaders attended the meeting.
