The grand old concept of padayatra found new fame in Telangana of late. The leaders are doing padayatra to boost their political image. The likes of YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the chief of the Telangana wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party announced yatras and doing it.
Now we will see one more yatra from a big leader in the state. The media information is that Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) chief Revanth Reddy would launch a yatra to tour the state. The yatra is likely to be started soon.
The yatra might be named âSakalajanula Sangharshana Yatra' so that Revanth Reddy can meet people across the ages and fields to bring back the lost glory to the party. As the general elections in Telangana are scheduled to be held next year the yatra is the need of the hour.
Moreover, the Telangana wing of the grand old Congress is dealing with a lot of internal issues and the senior leaders are openly expressing their anger and the TPCC and the chief. Targeting him on his Telugu Desam Party link and the fact that he was once with the TDP the leaders started a campaign.
Announcing PCC Committees turned out a disaster for the grand old Congress. Konda Surekha resigned from the committees saying that she was not respected as per her caliber and potential.
A few others also openly said the committees missed the key names. Now the seniors in the Telangana Congress party started raising their voices saying that non-Congress persons are appointed as members of the commission while the leaders who are with the Congress are not given importance.
The seniors almost created local and non-local issues in the party as they alleged that outsiders are getting good preference in the party. The issue became a sensation that the Telangana Congress vice-President has to give a clarification.
Senior leader Mallu Ravi said that there is no truth in the allegations made by the seniors and except for Revanth Reddy, all the members of the Political Affairs Committee are Congress and the majority of them are not migrants. Amid this, Revanth Reddy wants to start the yatra.
