The grand old Congress wants to bring back the lost glory of the party in a phased manner. As part of that, the Congress party gave a special focus on Telangana and after a big brainstorming, firebrand leader Revanth Reddy was made the chief of the Telangana wing of Congress.
When Revanth Reddy was made the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief, everyone thought that the Congress party might get the required boost. But the grand old party started facing a nightmare with the developments in the party.
But a section of leaders in the T-congress is reportedly not happy with Revanth Reddy and are distancing themselves from the Congress boss of Telangana state. With no support from the other leaders, Revnath Reddy is struggling to increase the political mileage for the party. He had pinned high hopes on Rahul Gandhi's visit to Osmania University but in vain.
With no opinion left, Revanth Reddy had reportedly decided to use the successful formula of doing a padayatra which helped many leaders to rise to power. Will the same formula work for Revanth Reddy and help him reach the bigger target, we have to wait and see here.
On the flip side, the Delhi leadership of Congress is believed to have said no to the yatra due to various reasons. They might have felt that doing a statewide padayatra would take a lot of time and with the state party chief keeping himself busy with the padayatra might not work for the party. Considering these issues, the Delhi leadership might think that Padayatra would not work.
Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar is also doing a padayatra and the response is not that great. This might also be the reason for Revanth Reddy's proposed padayatra failing to get a green signal from the party.
As Revanth Reddy is very adamant that padayatra might work for him well, he reportedly told the leadership that he would not do door-to-door campaigns and he would cover a constituency in a day. Looks like Revanth Reddy wants to add a twist to the padayatra here. Will this work is the main question here.
