Is pressure being brought on the police higherups to let off controversial SI of Marredpalli Nageswara Rao, who is accused of raping a woman at gun point and of falsely implicating her husband in a ganja smuggling case? Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy thinks so. He feels that the SI knew too much about the drug case in Radisson Hotel and hence efforts are on to bail him out.
Revanth Reddy has alleged that the controversial SI had also dealt with the drugs case in Radisson Hotel. He also claimed that Nageswara Rao played an important role in all the shady deals and that he was hand in glove with KTR. He alleged that the SI was threatening to leak sensitive information that could severely damage the ruling TRS if he was not bailed out in the rape case.
The SI is accused of raping a woman who works in his agricultural farm by putting a gun at her head. He is also accused of foisting a ganja case against her husband. He even kidnapped the couple, but the latter managed to give a slip and lodge a complaint against him. Since then, the SI has been on the run.
Revanth Reddy made these comments at a book launch function in Hyderabad on Sunday. The Congress leaders have taken up this issue and have been addressing press conferences to highlight the role of the TRS biggies in the case.
