By-Poll in RK Nagar, the constituency which fell vacant after the death of former CM J Jayalalithaa, is slated to happen on December 21st.
AIADMK choose Murthuganesh as the party candidate for by-poll in RK Nagar. He would contest on party's two leaves election symbol.
TTV Dhinakaran claimed he will contest RK Nagar by-election with the blessings of her aunt Sasikala. He was the candidate of AIADMK when by-poll was scheduled to happen on April 12th this year. EC cancelled the by-election over bribe charges against AIADMK Ministers. Dhinakaran was expelled from AIADMK after the merger of groups led by CM Palanisamy and O Panneerselvam. He will have to contest as independent in the crucial by-election.
On the other hand, Jaya's niece Deepa Jayakumar is going to contest on behalf of her political party.
As per EC, There are 2,26,715 voters in RK Nagar constituency. Voters in the age group of (20-40) are going to decide the fate of candidates as they account 58 percent (1.25 lakh) of the total voters.
