Rohit Sharma Donates 80 Lakh To Fight COVID-19

Following the deadly outbreak of the COVID-19, India is fighting against the pandemic. This resulted in many sportsperson and movie stars to come forward to support the nation in this noble fight.

Now Indian opener Rohit Sharma also came forward to join the noble cause as the star cricketer donated Rs 80 lakh to help the nation to get back to the normal situation.

In that 80 lakhs, Hitman Rohit has donated Rs 45 lakh to the PM-CARES Fund, Rs 25 lakh for the CM Relief Fund and Rs 5 lakh each for Feeding India and Welfare of stray dogs.

Rohit Sharma took to Twitter to say that he has done his part and urged others to do their part.

"We need our country back on feet & the onus is on us. I've done my bit to donate 45lakhs to #PMCaresFunds, 25lakhs to #CMReliefFund Maharashtra, 5lakhs to @FeedingIndia and 5lakhs to #WelfareOfStrayDogs.Let's get behind our leaders and support them @narendramodi @CMOMaharashtra," Rohit's Tweet read.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his actress wife Anushka Sharma have donated money to the Prime Minister and the Maharashtra Chief Minister's relief funds to fight the fatal virus.

Earlier batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar and former skipper Sourav Ganguly have donated Rs 50 lakh each to combat the dreaded pandemic.
