Rohit Sharma is next to Sourav Ganguly

Two times double century record holder Rohit Sharma once again showed his class act in historical Melbourne cricket ground.Rohit smashed a century in the second match of the tri-series at the MCG on Sunday. He made blistering 138-run knock against Australia in the second game.

Sharma registered his sixth ODI hundred, and his first at the MCG, which will host this year's World Cup final. Rohit Sharma became the only second  Indian to score an ODI century at MCG. The previous best was 100 runs by Sourav Ganguly way back in January 2000.

Rohit blasted nine boundaries and four sixes produce his sixth ODI hundred.He smashed many records with his class knock.Rohit became the first player to hit four sixes in the ground.Indian veteran players Agarkar and Srikanth having record for hitting two sixes each other.

Rohit becomes the individual highest run getter.Earlier the record was on name of Australian captain ricky ponting who scored 119. Rohit's 138 ensured he has scored the most ODI runs against Australia in the last two years.Few number of Indian cricketers scored centuries against Australia. With his century Rohit joined some former India batsmen in the list which includes VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar.
