Roja's Suspension to be extended till 2019

TDP Members raised the issue of extending suspension of YSR Congress legislator RK Roja from Assembly for the rest of her tenure on grounds of objectionable gestures and usage of derogatory language against ruling party leaders during the Zero Hour on Tuesday.

Telugu Desam MLA V Anita demanded extension of suspension against Roja till 2019 for making abusive comments in the Assembly.

Minister Peethala Sujatha commented Jagan backing Roja even after she tried character assassination of a dalit woman only shows how much he cares for the weaker sections. She appealed Speaker to disqualify Roja permanently.

TDP MLA Butchaiah Chowdary demanded non-bailable cases against Roja and her immediate arrest for involvement in character assassination of a Dalit MLA.

Speaker assured appropriate action would be taken against Roja after examining the video tapes consisting of the comments and gestures made by her.

On December 18th, Speaker Kodela imposed a one year suspension of Roja for derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his Cabinet Ministers.
