Rs 1,03,316 crore has been withdrawn: RBI

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday announced total exchange and deposits amount to Rs 5,44,571 crore between November 10th to 18th, 2016. While the deposits amount to Rs 5,44,571 crore, About Rs 33,006 crore has been exchanged.

People of the country has withdraw Rs 1,03,316 crore from their accounts either through Bank Counters or ATMs during this period.

Union Government has set the withdrawal limit to Rs 2,000 per day and Rs 24,000 per week after demonetization. The norm has been eased now, permitting cash withdrawals up to Rs 50,000 per week from current, overdraft and cash credit accounts.

As per an estimate, The banned currency amounts to Rs 14 lakh crore. When will Government dispense the balance amount is a million dollar questions. Farmers, Traders, Women, Senior Citizens, Employees were facing several hardships since Nov 8th.
