Reserve Bank of India (RBI) began printing of Rs 200 denomination notes recently to ease currency transactions in the country.
Buzz is that new Rs 200 currency notes willn't be dispensed through ATM Machines. If the reports are true by any chance, These notes will be supplied only through bank branches.
Notably, RBI is also bringing back Rs 1 note after a gap of 22 years. Security features of the new notes has been changed to prevent fake currency.
On the other hand, Supreme Court accepted a petition regarding scrapped Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes. Chief Justice JS Khehar opined, 'It's a serious issue if Government doesn't permit exchange of old notes after December deadline inspite of genuine reasons'.
