Rs 60 crore Cash & 245 kg Gold seized

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has seized around Rs 60 crore in cash of Rs 500/Rs 1000 denominations and 245 kg gold from 10 airports across the country since the launch of demonetisation.

CISF Personnel & Intelligence wing of Income Tax department launched a Special Surveillance Operation at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Patna, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Pune, Kolkata and Dimapur airports.

Mumbai airport: Rs 18.32 crore cash and 90.4 kg gold seized between November 15 and December 8.

Nagpur airport: Rs 11 crore cash was seized between November 24 and December 2.

Delhi airport: Rs 6.23 crore cash and 19.409 kg gold has been seized between November 10 and December 6.

Chennai airport: Rs 6.05 crore cash and 109 kg gold was seized on December 8 and 9.

Kolkata airport: Rs 5.65 crore cash and 25.463 kg gold seized between November 15 and December 8.

Pune airport: Rs 4.02 crore cash and 11 kg gold was seized between December 7 and December 11.

Dimapur airport: Rs 3.5 crore cash has been seized in this period.

Ahmedabad airport: Rs 3.14 crore cash and 800 grams gold was seized between November 19 and December 4.

Patna airport: Rs 1.33 crore cash was seized between November 19 and December 1.

Guwahati airport: Rs 69.14 lakh cash was seized between November 15 and December 8.
